I used to have a colleague who wasn’t doing great as a marketing executive and when management saw his weakness they decided to offer him another position of staying in the office instead of going out looking for client he declined the offer and choose to keep trying his luck in marketing. The management thought his decline to work as an in-house staff was commendable. They felt he had the spirit of not giving up they saw him as Some one who was willing to give all it takes to succeed in his giving task.
Because he was my “”paddy”I called him aside and asked him “guy why would you choose to keep going out under the sun to market when you can Sit in the office and enjoy air condtioner, no stress of going up and down and meeting target. I really admire your courage to pull through your marketing task” he laughed hard and said: ” Chinyere abeg you know the sales policy is, you get commissioned on what you sale which is almost or exact salary for you who sit in the office but that’s not the point. The Main reason I choose to remain in marketing is at my age ( he is 10 years older my age ) If I have to chill or hang out with my friends ( he had rich posh friends too who runs their own business ) I can’t be taken permission to leave the office from my supervisors at my age I should take off whenever I choose too without Anyone monitoring my movement. So before you go ahaed to join the clueless management who thinks I am a die hard markarter please know the reason behind my motives. Life is to short to be chained up at the four walls of an office.”

Moral of my story is, before you go ahead to admire someone’s courage kindly take out time to know the real motive behind their plans and supposed “Courage” 😂
